The architect-designed chalets are new and spacious, made for coolness in the tropics with ventilating wooden shutters, insulating alang-alang (grass) roof and shaded decks. Furnishings are traditional Lombok in this tropical hideaway.

FACILITIES
The massage and spa centre at nearby Heaven on the Planet offers traditional honey and cucumber facials to Balinese full body massage with specialties such as warm stone massage and reflexology to ease your aches and pains away.

Our spa menu has something for everyone and all of our products are sourced locally to complement the treatments and our commitment to provide you with the best possible wellness program. Our aim is to offer a harmonizing antidote to any stress in your lifestyle.

All facilities at nearby Heaven on the Planet can be used by our guests at Ocean Heaven. A complimentary shuttle service runs between the two hotels.

All we know is that Heaven on the Planet is alluring and eco-sensitive in beautiful Ekas Bay, south-east Lombok. Our guests come to a natural and unspoiled environment with full services – creating a special place for you to relax in our cliff-top and beach accommodation with restaurant, massages, surfing, kiting, diving, snorkeling and tours. We want you to feel nurtured and refreshed in our piece of Heaven.

Prices are mid-range with guest packages that include accommodation, food, transfers within Lombok, massages and more.

Some guests read with drinks by the pool or lie on Heaven’s Beach. For the more adventurous, surfing is good all year round … oily smooth waves in the wet and clear sunny offshore days in the dry. You can dive at the Walls of Heaven with our qualified surfer-girl dive instructor, George. Our staff will show you the nearby top-quality kite surfing lagoon and reef.

Heaven on the Planet is in beautiful Ekas Bay, south-east Lombok, on 17 hectares above the golden sand cliffs and beaches.
They are only 2 hours by road from the international airport. The road journey passes through the magnificent scenery of south-east Lombok. Alternatively if you are spending some time in Bali, you can journey across by boat.

Heaven is made for leisure. Read a book, swim in the pool, stroll on the beach or relax in the restaurant. Their grass-topped barugaq has “DVD’s by the pool” – comfy cushions, plus food service if you want. Heaven is an Eco-friendly reso

rt, so utilizes the natural ocean breezes rather than air-conditioning.  They have electricity, but the generators are turned off at night.

Heaven’s beach is a secluded, white sand treasure for sunbathing or swimming in the pure, warm tropical waters. You can laze on the beach, snorkel out to the branching coral reefs, scuba dive from the shore or paddle out to the surf.

They have walking tracks, with unsurpassed coastal views, that lead you through coastal cliffs, shady forest and hidden glades. One favorite is the Lost Valley filled with srikayas (in season), one of nature’s most delicious fruits.

A genuine traditional Lombok village is immediately behind the property. Only a short walk away, the local people will welcome you into their village. Teens seek out Lombok’s only skateboard bowl. More energetic guests can rent a boat, diving gear, surfboards, motor bikes, snorkel/masks or skateboards.

ACCOMMODATION
The “Big House”, Jati, sits high on the cliff top and overlooks spectacular Ekas Bay. Jati is more spacious than the other accommodation with its separate lounge room. Furnishing includes marble floors, luxury Queen size bed, ornately carved wardrobe and drawers, and two large day bed sofas.
There is also a television and DVD player. The bathroom is conveniently annexed to the bedroom and comprises the usual shower, toilet and hand basin. There is an expansive deck overlooking the bay – this is accessible from your bedroom as well as the living room where you have a sun lounger and rocking chair with outdoor dining table and chairs.

The Cliff-top Chalets also have the magical cliff top views and private bathroom/toilet facilities. They are a smaller version of the big house.
The Beach Chalets, right above the sand, are expected to be very popular, the first one is completed and the others will be constructed in the very near future.

The “Natural” accommodation is just that, more in keeping with nature, and very cool and comfortable. They have large windows and door in front to give guests a good vantage points of the property and the view. These rooms are set a little way back from the edge of the cliff however they still command excellent views. The natural accommodation has the use of shared bathroom facilities.

Due to being an eco resort they do not have air conditioning, but with wonderful sea breezes you won’t miss it.

Their 18 m outrigger boat is ideal for getting around in the warm tropical waters of Lombok, or reaching the nearby surfbreaks and dive sites. You can also go night fishing offshore.

You dine above Ekas Bay in the cliff top restaurant. Sunset is very special, with the last views of the surf, and the majestic Rinjani volcano dominating the red skyline. Their 4-star chef prepares both western and local foods from the menu or banquet style, with a touch of Lombok spice if you want. His specialty is fresh seafood, cooked over the natural BBQ. Genuinely local foods are available also … including grasshopper (in season).

ACTIVITIES

Surfing tours include:
• 1-day overland to the well-known breaks around Lombok – Grupuk, Kuta, Mawi and Desert Point.

• 2 day overland to the west coast of Sumbawa for Scar Reef, Supersuck and others famous breaks.

• Local tours on the 18 m boat to Ekas Bay breaks, or the Southern Reefs. Every surf break is known to the guides, plus the best tides, winds and swell sizes.

Diving tours go to the nearby sites in Ekas Bay and the outstanding reefs of the north-east of Lombok, either overland or by boat.
The waterfall tour at the foot of Rinjani volcano has been very popular – a refreshing dip in the mountain stream surrounded by dense jungle.

Shopping tours go to the pottery, pearl and weaving villages, plus the city of Mataram where many bargains can be found if you know where to look.

Cultural tours are within walking distance at the nearby village of Lendang Terak. Local villagers share their homes with you, and offer a snack with the very strong Lombok coffee. It is a great experience with the opportunity to learn how they make the many different handicraft baskets and mats.

SURF BREAKS
If you want surf in a remote location with no crowds, both safe and difficult waves, and at least 10 different breaks, then this place is ideal. With their 15m surf boat, motor bikes or car, you can easily get to Inside and Outside Ekas, the nearby “Southern Reefs”, or the many other breaks in Lombok and West Sumbawa.

There are limited numbers staying at the property and the surf charter boats don’t come to the Bay. They are the only resort, so you won’t get there to find many full losmen and all the breaks crowded.
Your accommodation at Heaven on the Planet overlooks 4 good breaks at Inside Ekas. Just paddle out, no transport required, or check out both Inside and Outside Ekas in the boat.

Inside Ekas is best known as a left and right hand peak which breaks in medium and large swells. The right is a high quality wave, particularly on low tide, suitable for advanced surfers. The left winds down the reef at high tide, a softer wave ideal for the less experienced surfer who wants a classic long ride. Both short and long boards are suitable on the left. The ride is longer at Ekas, but the left wave is like the well-known Grupuk peak, which has attracted many surfers from all over the world.

Also in front of the property are Lombok’s only beginner surfing waves. The left and right “sand bar” peak is ideal for learning to surf. They provide surfboards and professional surf lessons. Directly in front of the property, a classic wave winds down the reef on moderate swells making an easy left for long boarders or beginners.

Outside Ekas, a solid left break, is best on high tide in large swells when a very long, heavy wave peels over 400-500 m down the reef and barrels in sections. The square take-off jacks up into a thick lip, over deep reef. Outsides also works when the swell is smaller, particularly around mid tide … a bit peaky at times, but still fun.

The nearby “Southern Reefs” which are really good in the wet season, or early mornings before the wind comes up in the dry season. These reefs face straight into the swell and so they break nearly all the time. Hollow left and right peaks break in small swells. In large swells, one newly undiscovered hollow right winds perfectly over 800 m down the reef at nearby Cape RinggIt.

Note s:
At Heaven they accept any currency or travelers cheques. ATM’s and certified money changers are available on the trip to and from Heaven in Lombok, but not anywhere near the resort. Please ask the driver to stop.
